A transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force on Saturday left Dhaka for Maldives with daily necessities.
Bangladesh has sent daily necessities to Maldives as a sign of friendship during the current crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
A C-130B transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) on Saturday left Dhaka for Maldives with the items as well as 11 Bangladeshi doctors serving in Maldives, reads a press release issued by the Inter Service Public Relation Directorate (ISPR).
Those doctors could not return to their workplace in Maldives due to the global coronavirus situation.
During the global crisis period, Bangladesh has set a brilliant example of brotherhood by extending hands to Maldives with the help of BAF as a sign of mutual cooperation, says the press release.
It is expected that this assistance from Bangladesh will further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
The mission consisting of a 19 BAF Air Crew was led by Air Commodore M A Awal Hossain of BAF under the guidance of Chief of Air Staff of BAF Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, the ISPR adds.
Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar was present on the occasion.
Armed Forces are conducting various activities under the direction of the prime minister to stem the coronavirus.
