Night-vision capable helicopters join BAF fleet

The Bangladesh Air Force’s night flying and safety has been further enhanced with the inclusion of night vision equipped Mi-171Sh combat-support helicopters.

Moreover the Bell 212 fleet of the Bangladesh Air Force have also been upgraded with night vision friendly cockpit, night vision goggles, special lighting and an Australian-made FLIR system completely indigenously.

The Bangladesh Air Force’s new generation C-130J Super Hercules fleet is also equipped with night vision equipment and advanced radar systems. So far five aircraft have been purchased, two have joined the fleet already and a third one is being upgraded by Marshal Aerospace & Defence Group at Cambridge, United Kingdom currently.

All of the Bangladesh Air Force’s AW139 MSAR helicopters are also fully night vision capable and are also equipped with FLIR systems.

Bangladesh Air Force recently added advanced version of the Mi-171Sh combat-support helicopters to its fleet.
