BGB holding winter exercise with the Bangladesh Army

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is holding battalion level field training exercise after 11 years of hiatus.

The Bangladesh Army will also participate in the joint winter exercise led by the BGB which will begin on 3 January and conclude on 16 January. A total of 748 members of the BGB will be availed for the training exercise to validate their capabilities.

BGB Chattogram Region and the respective Bangladesh Army formation will conduct the exercise at Bhairab’s Shabazpur area.

Importance placed on conducting joint forces training were illustrated during recent times with ever increasing number of such exercises held between the armed forces and paramilitary forces of the country.

The Bangladesh Army Chief and Border Guard Bangladesh Director General will witness the exercise from 5 to 6 January 2020.

Bangladesh is under increased regional pressure with large influx of foreign intruders from India and Myanmar trying to enter the country due to the problems in those countries.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was alerted by respective intelligence agencies to maintain the utmost level of vigilance against intruders. Local villagers are assisting the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) wherever possible to prevent intrusion of the foreigners.
