Myanmar supplies insurgents in Bangladesh with weapons

Bangladeshi government joint forces recovered various types of Myanmar defence industries made weapons from tribal insurgents in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). The weapons and ammunition provide important evidence to expose Myanmar government’s agenda in destabilising the Bangladeshi hill areas.

Myanmar Army’s intelligence agency has been secretly supplying anti-Bangladesh insurgents in the CHT with small arms such as EMERK-3 rifles and BA-94 (MA-13) submachine guns (Uzi clones). The militants also carried AK-22 (.22 calibre AK-pattern), which are also commonly preferred weapon of terrorist organisations in Bangladesh. Such weapons were used by Neo-JMB operatives in the Holey Artisan siege.

A Bangladesh Army soldier was killed after insurgent elements ambushed their patrol. The Bangladeshi security forces launched a region wide operation to flush out the insurgents responsible for attacking government forces. A suspect was killed during one such operation earlier today. Evidentiary photos are availed for your reference. Warning: Some photos are graphic in nature.
