FCC – Deeds not words

The Faujdarhat Cadet College was established on 28th April 1958. It was done by a New Zealander by the name of William Maurice Brown. It is one of the four cadet colleges established before 1971. The first Cadet College to be established by Field Marshal Ayub Khan in erstwhile East Pakistan.

It was converted into the English version of the national curriculum in 2003.

Being the oldest cadet college in Bangladesh, she has borne witness to many distinguished and exemplary officers in the Bangladesh Armed forces and continues to supply our forces with professional and competent leadership. The principal of the school is a Lt. Colonel ranked officer and is appointed by the Adjutant General branch of the Bangladesh Army. 

Located close to the coast overlooking the Bay of Bengal, the 158-acre college maintains a rigid training structure, which is accompanied by ethereal beauty. It follows the same structure as all other cadet colleges in the country and is under the national curriculum with a primary focus of grooming future leaders of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Some notable alumni from Faujdarhat Cadet College are Hossain Zillur Rahman, Gowher Rizvi (International Affairs Advisor to the PM), General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan (Former CAS), Fazle Kabir (Governor of Bangladesh Bank) and a lot of distinguished individuals who have served and continue to serve Bangladesh. 

FCC has contributed to both military and civilian sectors of the country. It has created both military leaders and corporate leaders both at home and abroad. FCC has been the foundation for the armed forces as it has produced the maximum number of Military officers over the years, it has become the breeding ground for the next generation of competent officers.

There are four buildings to host the cadets, each two-storied. Each of the houses is given a name, a symbol, and a color. House names include Shahidullah, Fazlul Huq, Nazrul, and Rabindra.

Today nearly 3,000 cadets passed out their college life from this grand military college of the country.

FCC marches on as a symbol for leadership, patriotism, academic excellence, and youth development with its motto “Deeds not Words”.
