Fifteen crew members of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) have departed for the UK on a chartered flight of Bangladesh Biman today (Sunday) to ferry the second C-130J aircraft from UK to Bangladesh.
The mission was led by Group Captain Santanu Chowdhury of the BAF. Chief of Air Staff of BAF Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat has provided necessary guidance to carry out the mission.
BAF Welfare Trust also made necessary arrangement for those people in Bangladesh who wish to go to UK in this coronavirus situation on this chartered flight of Bangladesh Biman along with the BAF aircrews. Not only that the Bangladeshi expatriates who wish to come back home from the UK, BAF Welfare Trust will also arrange their return in coordination with High Commission to the UK.
Bangladesh Air Force is carrying out various activities following the policy published by the Government of Bangladesh to prevent coronavirus.
The procurement of five C-130J aircraft is part of a Government to Government deal to modernise Bangladesh Air Force.
Following this, the process of induction of C-130J into BAF will continue under a procurement and maintenance agreement with Royal Air Force and Marshal Aerospace and Defence Group of UK.
