South asians are expert in jumping up and down for nothing of significance.
Look at how we treat whities like they're some royalty. Even more disturbing than these react videos are those "top 10 facts about bangladesh" by whities. People flock to watch those, as if having white people utter the word Bangladesh is some big achievement for our 160M+ nation.
Don't even get me started on those. Most facts stated are from prolly around the early 2000's. It's like all they did was search up Bangladesh and went to the wikipedia page and copy pasted stuff from there. Yet, so much fun because it's a white guy isn't it? Even though most facts stated are stuff we prolly learned in grade 5 Bangladesh studies.

Since the love affair is so high I wonder why India gave kilo class sub to Myanmar and direct or indirectly supports Myanmar over Bangladesh !! So far no strong words for Rohingya genocide either. Supporting Bangladesh wholeheartedly can be a wise move. No buts or ifs.
Trust me if Bangladesh was predominantly hindu, India would go to Hell and beyond to help us. Their politics has mostly been religion based recently and if it goes on, it'll destroy the country. Believe it or not, a unified and secular India is better for Bangladesh than a divided one.

For views bro
All these YouTube channel "reacting" on Bangladeshi videos is just for views and revenue. Sad to see so many Bangladeshis just jumping and hyping it up as if it's some sort of massive win for us.

Patiently and eagerly looking forward to it. I hope BAF accomplishes and realises all the dream acquisitions on their part and on our part as well.
Let's hope the next 3 years is a dream year for the BAF. Finally, we'd be able to overcome the decades we were behind and be ahead for once.

Ecnec clears for upgrading Hatirjheel-Banashri-Demra Highway
Independent Online /UNB
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) on Tuesday approved a Tk 1,209.60 crore project to support work for upgrading the Hatirjheel-Rampura Bridge-Banashri-Shekherjaiga-Amulia-Demra Highway into a four-lane one.The approval came from the weekly Ecnec meeting held at the NEC conference room with Ecnec Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
“Today’s (Tuesday’s) meeting approved nine projects involving a total estimated cost of Tk 4,324.61 crore,” said Planning Minister MA Mannan while briefing reporters after the meeting.
Of the total cost, Tk 4,249.09 crore will come from the national exchequer, while Tk 5.68 crore from the own fund of an implementing organisation, and the rest of Tk 69.84 crore will come as project assistance (from Korea Eximbank).
Among the approved projects, eight are fresh and the rest one is a revised one.
About the Hatirjheel-Banashri-Demra Highway project, the Planning Minister said the Department of Roads and Highways will implement the project titled ‘Public Private Partnership-based Supportive Project for Upgrading Hatirjheel-Rampura Bridge-Banashri-Shekherjaiga-Amulia-Demra Highway into Four Lane’ one by December 2024.
Once the 13.50-kilometre highway project is completed, he said, those travelling to and from Chattogram and Sylhet using the highways will be benefited.
The main project operations include some 25.47 hectares of land acquisition, compensation and rehabilitation alongside other necessary consultancy and procurement works.
Besides, the Ecnec meeting approved a project for conducting dredging at Mongla Port Channel with an estimated cost of Tk 793.73 crore to ensure the necessary depth for handling capacity of ships having 9.5 to 10 metres depth at Mongla Port Jetty.
The meeting also endorsed the first revision of Bhandal Juri Water Supply project with an additional cost of Tk 958.85 crore. The total estimated cost of the project now has been increased to Tk 1995.15 crore from the original cost of Tk 1,036.30 crore.
The rest six fresh projects approved at the meeting are Procurement of Necessary Vehicles and Equipments for Rangpur City Corporation with an estimated cost of Tk 113.69 crore, Construction of Rajshahi Wasa Bhaban with Tk 65.99 crore; Upgradation of Narayanganj Link Road (from Signboard to Chashara) into six-lane one with Tk 449.58 crore, Agricultural Development at Rajshahi Division through Expansion of Modern Technology with Tk 147.03 crore; Arial Kha River Bank Protection and Dredging under Shibchar upazila in Madaripur district with Tk 394.47 crore; and River Bank Protection near Doarabazar upazila Parishad complex, Rokkhibaor and Betura on the right side of Surma River under Sunamganj district with Tk 191.67 crore.
Although I am all for the expansion of the highways, it won't be as effective if bottle-necking issues aren't solved. Having a wider road just means more vehicles piling up faster at the signals and bottle-necking points. A lot of it is attributed to illegal parking and not following the rules properly. Sadly, only solution to that is the Police being more diligent and we all know how that goes.

Not for now. No. It’s not that bad of a decision imo. Biman needs to step up its training and recruitment facilities. This should greatly improve its overall service and set a higher standard for the private airlines to compete with which will inspire more investment and better quality. Current services are quite lacklustre tbh if you’ve flown other international airlines(not including India ofc).
It is 100% true that Biman (the Govt) really needs to look at it's airports before buying any new planes right now. The dreamliners they got so far are more than enough to operate the new routes that they plan to take. Once more airports are built, the existing terminals are renovated and security and service is upgraded, Bangladesh can look to be an airline hub much like Dubai. Not saying it will be as successful as Dubai but a lot of Australian, Japanese, Chinese and mainly airlines to our East might prefer Bangladesh over Dubai due to it being cheaper (speculation on my part).

Bangladesh's defence budget is 1.2% of GDP, its the second lowest in the region after Bhutan.
I think the budget is gonna be bigger this time but will not be a surprising percentage increase. Govt still focusing more on the social and infrastructure sector, mainly power generation. I think more money will be allocated to construction this time around especially to the roads and communication ministry.

People do not have faith on this substandard EC. It can go two ways, voter turn out high as citizens want to vote out the ruling party or a low turn out in fear of violence.
EC is simply not doing enough to stop violations of its rules. All four major party candidates are literate yet at ward level you'll seldom find a graduate. Most are SSC passers.
I don't know when we will realize how important a Mayors post is for a city. Even more so now because chances are, the metrorail might become operational in the next mayor's tenure. They really need to reorganize the public transport sector and have it as a compliment to the metrorail as opposed to a substitute. Won't solve any traffic problems for the city otherwise.

The more educated they are, the more they'll understand the differences between a life in Myanmar and a life in Bangladesh. Might backfire as they will be able to convince people to never leave willingly.

I second the fact that non-Bangladeshi nationals have restricted access. Or else, they'll just start taking screenshots and sharing it on their FB troll pages.

I agree with the fact that they are same level of traitors but just changing a law without changing the way we judge things is still the same. The powerful will walk free and you wouldn't snag more than a few low ranked ones. Same as the anti-narcotics drive if you know what I'm hinting at.

Any ideas about the actual combat capabilities of the Myanmar armed forces beyond their own borders? Surely the regime must know that they can't wage all out war against Bangladesh.
It will cripple their already limping economy, create a power vacuum for the secessionists to exploit, damage their inexistent international reputation.
Lastly, do they even have the manpower pool to carryout a long term war? Seeing as Bangladesh has 160M+ population, our manpower pool must looms large over them. Our ethnic homogeneity and intense love for the motherland's hard fought sovereignty will surely be something the genocidal regime will have to think about before trying anything.
They have their hands full with the many separatist groups acting within their borders. They have to be pretty thick in the head to even imagine waging war with another country without fixing their internal matters first. It will be like waging war on multiple fronts and I'm sure the separatists will take advantage of that fact and try to occupy as much area as possible.

BTV should take notes from these guys on how to shoot a parade and fly-past properly
Should contract it out to independent people like those from Plane Spotters BD. And really really need to concentrate on their camera angles and timings of frame changes. The last Victory Day Parade video was a joke.

Didn't know there more Burmese Muslim groups besides the Rohingya.
The only solution for the rohingya is have them repatriated and given a strong foothold in the border regions. It helps to have allies on the other side of the border, no need to arm though.
Yeah the Rohingyas need to be repatriated. This gives us a buffer between our borders that might ease tensions for us. Also, really need to be careful about radicalization as we might be a better target for them than the Burmese.

The vessel has a length of about 122 meters, a width of 22 meters for a total displacement of 11,300 tons. The vessel has an endurance of 30 days at sea and a range of 8,600 nautical miles. It is now the largest vessels in the Myanmar Navy fleet.
As any LPD, the Moattama is designed for amphibious operations, transportation of personnel as well as disaster relief and humanitarian assistance. It has a well deck and two helicopter spots + hangar.
The introduction of LPD capability may give the Myanmar Navy a new force projection capability along with Kilo-class submarine that might be problematic for Bangladesh Navy itself.
I have a feeling this ship is more of a statement vessel than anything. It's stupid to have so many assets in a vessel with minimal defensive capability. A well placed salvo in it means the loss of a dozen tanks, few hundred troops and two helis along with the ship itself.

Issues with land acquisition. The most ideal place for a new airport was at arial beel but clashes with locals that were fanned by local politicians and businessmen stopped the process.
Didn't they plan for another area after that? I may be wrong but didn't they have an alternate plan for something close to the Padma bridge? As far as I remember, that place was uninhabited hence wouldn't have problems with land aquisition. I think AL's promises for the last election was also about an airport

I agree completely with the need of more equipment but the situation also needs to be kept in mind. The banani case, everyone started flooding the streets as soon as it happened making it nearly impossible to reach the scene on time for the fire crews. No level of equipment is gonna be able to solve that. For the slums, they are in essence unplanned. Making the small walkways in between shanties only wide enough for one person to go through. Imagine a squad of firefighters trying to make their way through. The govt keeps throwing these people out and they keep coming back. I don't blame them tho. They need affordable housing and the govt needs to plan for that if they haven't yet

The Fire Service is highly underrated in Bangladesh. Given the resources and manpower they have, they did an amazing job in the Banani incident. Sadly, us Bangladeshis enjoy criticizing people more than we enjoy applauding people for their effort

The new terminal sounds like a short term solution to Dhaka's problem. The 20 million passenger capacity may be able to handle the flow till 2030. A new airport needs to be made so that it can handle the projected passenger volume for the later years. As far as I've heard, they were supposed to build another airport on the outskirts of Dhaka. This would've helped with the traffic flow and would've enabled an easier move of industry outside Dhaka, decentralizing the city a lot.

Only heavy industries should be allowed. Industries with the potential to be global leaders. Specifically more IT focused as govt wants to make Bangladesh an IT hub.
