Holey Artisan, the previous Sylhet issue and subsequent operations have highlighted the quality of BD special forces. Neither India nor Pkaistan with all their elite forces have been able to conduct operations with such elegance and sophistication as we did. In my view given the wide ranging tribute and respect paid to Bangladeshi special forces by regional commanders for their successful completion of missions, Bangladeshi special forces are probably the best. Both Indian and Pakistani forces failed to conduct missions with the rate that our forces have done.

Well to be fair, Bangladesh hasn't faced the kind of large scale terror attacks that Pakistan and India have faced which is a good thing.

The 2008 Mumbai attacks shook India to its core.

The government did a commendable job of crushing terror networks in BD largely hampering their capabilities to mount attacks.

The only sustainable way forward from hereon is an international peacekeeping force in Rakhine state. Unfortunatly the UN became a toothless organisation because major powers like China and Russia decided to take the side of war criminals.

Some US congressman was suggesting Bangladesh take hold of Rakhine state. Don't know what he was smoking.

The new terminal sounds like a short term solution to Dhaka's problem. The 20 million passenger capacity may be able to handle the flow till 2030. A new airport needs to be made so that it can handle the projected passenger volume for the later years. As far as I've heard, they were supposed to build another airport on the outskirts of Dhaka. This would've helped with the traffic flow and would've enabled an easier move of industry outside Dhaka, decentralizing the city a lot.

I believe a new airport will be built at purbachal, just outside of Dhaka. They're apparently going to build a whole city there with skyscrapers, underground electric cables, new cricket stadium and other facilities.

  4. The situation for these people is very bad, I have been to the Cox Bazaar camp.... the authorities are doing all they can but I don't think our country can host and provide for them in the long run. I hope the International Community do their part and resolve this issue. Once they're repatriated I think Bangladesh govt should look out for them, so that in future they dont face any issues and result in another crisis.
